Nuzest is pleased to welcome Maegan Kelly as one of our newest sports ambassadors. Maegan is an American professional soccer player for Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League. We had the pleasure of sitting down and getting know Maegan, so let's see what she had to say!
Q. For those of us who don’t know you, who is Maegan?
A. I’m a family oriented, God-loving Catholic who loves staying active with sports and crafts.
Q. What does being a Nuzest sports influencer mean to you?
A. Means using my platform to help promote a healthy lifestyle and to help encourage people to use products like Nuzest that are natural and healthy for your body.
Q. How do you make healthy choices and avoid temptations when it comes to your nutrition?
A. When I’m tempted to make an unhealthy choice, I usually try and find a healthier alternative to an unhealthy option. For example, making protein pancakes instead of regular pancakes. Or making protein balls instead of having a dessert like ice cream. But I also remind myself that everything is good in moderation
Q. What is your favorite indulgence?
A. I’m a sucker for baked goods.
Q. What is your favorite healthy snack?
A. Probably an açaí bowl or homemade granola with plain goat yogurt and honey.
Q. How do you stay active and fit?
A. I love going on bike rides with my husband, walking the dog, kayaking, hiking, running around the neighborhood, playing pick-up soccer with friends, yoga, boxing, pilates, and going to the gym. When I’m in season, going to training and recovery usually takes precedence over most of the other activities I like doing.
Q. What is your favorite form of exercise?
A. Playing soccer is my favorite form of exercise.
Q. Aside from being a soccer superstar, what do you do for fun?
A. I’m a very crafty person. I like making things. I like knitting, sewing, painting, making signs, baking, cooking, gardening.
Q. What advice do you have for people wanting to kick-start a healthy lifestyle or to pump up their nutrition?
A. To think of it as a lifestyle change and not as a diet. Also if you don’t know where to start, start by eating things that come from the earth and aren’t processed. Another thing would be to read the label. If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t be putting it into your body. Lastly, I like telling people your body is going to thank you later on in life for making the change to a healthier lifestyle. You will have more energy and your health will increase overall.
