Vanilla Caramel Hot Cross Buns

Vanilla Caramel Hot Cross Buns - Nuzest USA

Serves: 5 buns / Prep time: 8 minutes / Bake time: 17 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 5 scoops (1/2 cup) Nuzest Kids Good Stuff Vanilla Caramel Flavor
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp mixed spice
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. Combine all ingredients except the raisins in a mixing bowl. Using a stand mixer or mixing by hand, mix until a firm dough forms.
  3. Add the raisins and knead gently to incorporate.
  4. Divide the dough into 5 equal portions and shape into buns.
  5. Place on a lined baking tray and score a cross on top of each bun.
  6. Brush with egg wash, then dust lightly with cinnamon and sprinkle with extra coconut sugar.
  7. Bake for 17 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
  8. Allow to cool. Once cooled, pipe a cross over each bun using melted coconut butter or sunflower seed butter.

Notes

  • We recommend full fat yoghurt as it will add moisture to the bun.
